VINCENT JIA is a playwright, screenwriter, director, creative producer, and actor who creates for gen Z, immigrant, and queer audiences.
Previously, Vincent created and starred in SHOWSTOPPER, a solo dark comedy at the 2026 Toronto Fringe Festival (Ferron Delcy Intermission Magazine). A Showstopper reboot called ASTER NO-LAST-NAME will run as part of the 2027 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
As creator & executive producer at Aristotle Zhang, an NYC-founded independent screen & theatre production company, he has written and is currently developing SEPHONE, an animated coming-of-age feature film, BOHO TEA CO., a boba shop sitcom, and ELYSE KILLS MARGO OR DIES TRYING, a British lesbian dramedy.
Up next on Aristotle Zhang's slate: a psychological thriller punk film called CYAN IS... (Vocal Media Arts Critique) as well as LAZZI! a hard clown comedy set in a circus.
Vincent's film/television scripts have been workshopped at TIFF Next Wave, Sundance Institute Collab, and Center for Cultural Power. Vincent holds a BFA in Dramatic Writing from NYU Tisch.
Vincent identifies as transgender, neurodivergent, and a first gen Chinese-Canadian. These aspects of himself inform his narrative style, which is often strangely surreal, and his comedic voice tends towards deadpan and dire.
His stories are usually about LGBTQ+ people of colour and their pursuits of freedom, respect, or vengeance. This commonly means dysfunctional families, extraordinary people in ordinary circumstances, and anti-heroic protagonists.

ARISTOTLE ZHANG is an independent screen and theatre production studio dedicated to delivering original storytelling by and for queer & transgender immigrants of colour and/or disability, with a focus on scripted, character-driven comedic and dramatic narrative projects.
Founded in NYC in 2025 by emerging writer-creator Vincent Jia, the collective specializes in surreal genre media and intimate dramas that aim to foster connection between our universal human experiences. Aristotle Zhang has successfully produced two episodic proof-of-concept shorts and is currently developing its first animated feature.
